|
|
Hi to all,
I am getting my first tattoo however I am concerned with hair regrowth. The questions sounds stupid but because I have lightish to dark (it is un-noticeable in the sun) hairs on my upper arm, I was wondering if the tattooist will need to shave the hair. If they do does the hair grow back after the tattoo thicker, or does it burn the hair right out.
I am afraid that after I get the tattoo, I will re-grow the hair and it will be thicker and a little patch on the tattoo thats thicker would look stupid.
Anyone please help. |

| Anytime that a tattoo is done they shave the area first. Do not worry about the hair regrowth! I have a tattoo on my leg and I have never grown hair there since having the tattoo, so I am pretty sure that you will not grow hair there anymore. |

you have hair growing all over yr body even if you cant see it. thats why the artist will shave you first.
theres a good chance yr hair will grow back but dont worry about it as the effect if the tattoo will quite often hide the hair regrowth.
i have a black and grey peice on my right calf (with a mans hairy legs) but you cant see/notice the hair just a nice peice of artwork.
good luck with it! |

| You will definantly get shaved as that is just to make sure that the surface is clean and sterile to prevent infection. The hair will regrow most of the time but like the previous poster said you will not be able to notice it. I also have a tattoo on my leg and there is hair there but it really doesn't make a difference. |

| Further to this thread, I'm also thinking about designs for my first tattoo and I have very thick body hair and really unsure if what's shaved off will regrow and hence this is having an influence on my tattoo design. Right now I'm presuming the hair will grow back and as such I'm leaning away from a design with too much small detail. Further opinions? |

| I've never had a tattoo before, and the place on my left upper chest has dark medium thick hair. I would definetly want the hair to grow back and not have a bare spot. I'm considering a single line circle/cross design without any shading. Is there going to be a problem ? |

| I am sure the growing back of hair will not be much of a problem. The dark inks will cover the hair growth. |
