Just a note to anyone considering getting any ink by melanie ainsbury panesh at colour me custom in banbury, DONT...
I was reccomended there, on the web site her work looked fine, but the tattoo i got from her is the worse ive seen in the 17 yrs of being tattood...
The whole thing is terrible from the patches, to wobbly lines, ect...Made a real mess..
Apparantly award winning artist, she may be ok for very small flash, but not big custom work like she proclaims...
Worse thing is ive been ignored since, doesnt want to know, and im not alone
So please avoid this tattoo shop at all costs

| Thanks for letting us know! I don't live in UK but such posts will probably help others to have such a bad experience like you had. |

Hi Soed,
yeah theres way too many dodgy tattoo studios setting up everywhere..Its frightening that someone can just easily buy tattoo kit, and away they go...
Its ok for people that are natural artists, and pick it up really well....
Ive seen far too many bad tattoos, and its mainly from new studios..
Do you have this problem where your from ? im sure
There was 1 studio in worcester yrs ago, now theres 4 or 5..
Im mid 30s and i should know better than to take someones word for it, its gonna cost me hundreds of pounds to put right, on top of what shes allready ripped from me...
If you want small basic flash, then be ok, but anything else, DONT BOTHER, cause once you complain you get ignored...
cheers |

even with simple flash be careful I have a band on my arm which is a very simple design off the wall done before i knew better and the "artist" completly cocked it up.
still lesson learnt. |

HI ALL
both kitty and i have had bad experiences from bad well known tattooists. it put us off them for a while then we were introduced to the one we go to now. he is a proffessional working from a home studio. we love it with the relaxed atmosphere, not a crowded studio he works appointment only (except with his regulars, we ring and he fits us in ), because he works from home it keeps his costs down. they are well well under other places around. here is a idea on his prices, one of mine was a flame job from wrist to just under elbow. it is black and grey shaded and has over 30 tips. that cost $300, kitty got a big tribal and butterfly tatt with 5 smaller butterflies flying up through falling flowers, leaves and petals, it starts at her waist and goes to her right shoulder (a decent sized job) and all that was $250. they are all nearly half cheaper then what we were told elsewhere.
you have to look around cause if you get too ***** of a tatt some artists may not be able to cover or fix it and it will be a costly adventure getting it removed.
thats enough babbling from me

I am sorry to see such a negative post by Mark. Melanie Ainsbury Panesh is a wonderful tattooist. She as been tattooing for 15 years. She is also an artist. Mel has done some fab tatts, she is about to do my second tatt, a large and complicated piece that she has designed, based on the art of Susan Seddon Boulet, it will cover most of my left shoulder.
Mel has also done a lot of work on Philander, a friend of mine, it was that good it was featured on the BME site.
Mel has also tattooed my ole man,a large celtic dog on his leg, from one of my designs.

I'll let Melanie's custom, free hand work speak for itself.
Have a look on BME ModBlog and search for 'Philander'.
Melanie's only mistake was to tattoo Mark despite warnings from several other artists not to. |

In frankly amazed !
I have been worked on by nine Tat artists over the last 18 years, within these some really talented people. Mel Panesh stands proud as not only being a deeply talented artist, but also a very focused shop owner with a refreshingly humble and profesional manner. Her shop is surgically clean, her staff are both incredibly profesional and really plesent. Her range is vast, her portrait work is WORLD CLASS.
So far I have had Mel do touch up and refresh work on my older work and also start a full waist to heel leg peice.
I'm very willing to post pictures as each stage is complete to prove without qestion that Mels work is sublime, plain and simple.
I'm hoping that Mark is happy also to show and tell. After all a picture tells a thousand words. Proof in the pudding and all that.
I think it fair to mention that aswell as finding the quality of Mels work a pleasure, I also found her work to be applied with huge care and a great deal less pain than many of her counterparts. Mels ability to interpret customers ideas and turn them into wicked bespoke work makes the whole proccess a lot of fun.
Mels other resident artist in Hafod tattoo is Whitney Hilton. Whitney has done a custom Ganesh on my left rib cage. So far we are about 8 hours in. It's stunning ! Again picture tells it all. Whitney is incredibly talented. Her initial sketch work was meticulous as was her understanding of my desired look. She puts every ounce of herself into her work and I feel genuinely privileged to have had her work with me.
IN A NUTSHELL I'M ONE OF A HUGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE BOOKED IN FOR A LARGE VOLUME OF WORK WITH MEL, MANY OF WHOM ARE TRAVELLING HUNDREDS OF MILES FOR THE PRIVALEDGE.
THANKS A MILLION MEL |

| M@rk has failed/not bothered to provide any pictures to prove that what he says about Mel Panesh is true. I personally think it's fair to say that the guy is so full of crap that his eyes are brown. |

I have been in the body modification industry for nearly 20yrs and would like to express my opinion with regard to the above statement.
I started getting inked in 1984 by Rob Robinson and anyone around the scene at that time will know the name and the quality of his work. The next artist I used was Andy Barber who is a multi award winning tattooist.
I opened my own studio in 1996 and I have had the pleasure of working along side the very best the industry has to offer in the UK and across the pond.
I have assisted on a number of major UK conventions and have many close friends in the business.
One thing every good artist or piercer seems to have in common is the "stalking hater" and the internet has made it easy for them to express their hate. We should all recognise that some individuals are out to cause as much choas as possible because of- amongst other things- jealousy!
Melanie Ainsbury Panesh is the victim in this post. Google her name and this thread is within the top five hits and it is no way a fair or accurate evaluation of her work.
Melanie is a professional artist and her work gives pleasure to many people, be it on skin, canvas or paper.
Would I trust Melanie Panesh to tattoo me? Yes and I have, she has already completed half my face in celtic style and most of my head and it is oustanding. I have always left my back clear waiting for the right artist and Melanie is currently in the design process for that.
Anyone who has had the pleasure of being tattooed by Melanie I would urge to contact the board admins to have this slanderous thread removed as I have done.
I thank anyone who has taken the time to read this and will hopefully come to the conclusion that one bad apple is trying to spoil the cart.

It is definitely too easy these days for anyone to pop up on a forum and talk ***** about someone else
Always remember "if you read it on the internetz it MUST be true"
