So twice now i have gone for tattoos on my arms with two different artists and it seems my skin is "catchy"?
Can anyone help with some advice on how to prevent this.
I have tried lotion alot prior to recieving the tattoo but that did not help at all? |

First, I want to say I am NOT a professional yet (I don't plan to open my shop until April). That being said, it is not YOUR job to make the needle work with your skin! That is the tattooist's job. That is what you are paying for.
As for "catchy" being the problem... I doubt it. If your skin was "catching" on the needle, it would be because the needle's tip was bent.
Did the tattooist inspect the needle with a magnifying glass before beginning the tattoo? He/She should have!
More likely, is the needle was "bouncing" off your skin. This happens when people have tougher skin, or in areas where the skin in tougher, IE: The calf, the top of the forearm, etc. There are some extreme areas, IE: The palm & Heel, but tattoos do not last long in those areas, so it isn't recommended that a person get one in those areas unless they understand that the tattoo will not last long.
Your problem is likely "bouncing" which I said earlier. The tattooist need only re-adjust his/her machine , and needle depth to compensate for your tougher skin.

| You should research your artists a little more. They are terrible, if this is an issue. |
