Hey Everyone,
I'm new to the forum, and I've always been really intrigued by tattoos and the people who get them. I mean it's one of the best way to showcase parts of your personality, creativity or passion.
However, for me personally, I could never commit to having something be a part of me eternally. So how do you choose and how do you know that it's right for you? |

every body is diffrent but when ya see something ya like ya just know its like something pops up in ya head that says this is it thats what i want
its a kinda cool feeling an artist gets when ya draw something up for some one and when they first see it ya can usaly tell if they like it just by the look on there face before they say anything its a look of "yes yes i like that i want that"
some people are very precice about what they want its gotta be this big and that color and look like this and what not, were as others seem not to care and leave it up to the artist (they are the people we love to work on) and what the artist thinks will look best
then there are people who come in with no clue to what they want, these are the people who scare and frustrate tattoo artists cos we never know if that person has walked out with something he or she truely likes
then there are people who seem to get what ever is fashion and its kinda intresting to see how much the styles have changed over the years
but realy its all down to the person who decides to get tattooed |

My problem is that I may "feel" it for a little while and then get over it.
Do you think tattoos always have to be something meaningful or can they just be pieces of art? |

i dont think every tattoo has to have some deep rooted meening behind it,
just look at all the people with tribal tattoos. what tribe are they apart of?
but they like it. but other people get tattoos like portrits of family or memorial tattoos for some one who has passed.
i think though people should be mature enough to decide what's right for them before they rush out to get tattooed.
so i guess what i should ask you what is it that you like or care for so much that you'd have it tattooed on your body, and if you cant answer then you shouldn't get tattooed at this point in your life.
good luck. |

I have 15 tattoos. every one of them is symbolic to me because they represent an image of something that reminds me of a moment during my lifetime.
Like I have a grim reaper on my left arm.. I was unlucky enough to see the grim reaper when I was 15, it was in my kitchen, 2 days later my grandpa matt passed away.
I have my bands logo on my arm... say it's stupid? i don't think so because I created the band, i have already put 6 long years into the band with rehearsals, touring, studio.. it's an experience I'll never want to forget and it's something that means a lot to me.
So as you can see.. some people like me get them for the kind of reasons you read about above.. some do get them for an image they like a lot...
Good luck.. get yourself some ink.. it's like a pringle chip.. once you pop you just can't stop...lol |

All of the above reasons apply.
I have a freehand tribal cover up on my right arm, Im not a member of a tribe, but ironically it was to cover a football tattoo which is a kind of tribalisim!! so work that one out!
Basically take your time & feel right about it.
You will still have doubts even when your being inked.
Everyone is different(thank god) go with your gut feeling!! |
