I have an idea for a shoulder piece. I want it to go from my shoulder, wrap around the top to the front a tiny bit, go on the back of my arm and bit and to wrap down and around my rib cage.
I have a general idea, but I'm not too sure about it. I think something is missing.

I want a mother earth/goddess type woman as the center of it. I want her to be nude, but not slutty nude; just beautiful nude (like woman-empowerment nude).

But for the part that wraps around I don't want it too be too busy or interfering but I definitely want it noticeable. I'm not sure if I should go with a slight tribal design (although that seems too generic now-a-days) or just tell my tattooist to just make up his own idea. I want the whole piece to be colorful and brilliant.

That basically sums it up I just feel like it's missing something important. Does anyone have any ideas about the outside piece or what else I should add in or take away?

Oh yeah, and I also thought about putting this quote by Nietzsche in it

Well not in it, but near the bottom. Maybe. That's on the fence.

just ask your artist. if you trust him to work on you, you must trust him enough to help you draw this up. good luck.

That sounds like a big piece mate.
I would get stuck into some serious research on the internet, there are thousands of pictures you can get a great idea from, even incorporate a few together.
Dont forget you can refine your search by using ""in the search box, ie "goddess tattoo pictures".
